Why We Love Duo Boots: "Style is Nothing Without Fit"

By Cate Sevilla

If you're living in the UK and have yet to treat yourself to a pair of Duo Boots, you simply have no idea what you're missing. Every woman has at some point tried on or even purchased a pair of boots that does not fit her calves and legs. They're either too loose or too small, leaving massive gaps for cold air sneak into, or lacking the room for you to tuck a pair of skinny jeans into.

It's frustrating, it's irritating, and it gets rather expensive searching for the *perfect* fitting pair of boots when you're looking in all the wrong places.

The place you should be looking is Duo Boots, as they proudly handcraft boots in 21 different calf sizes. This means that chances of you being unable to find a pair of perfectly fitting boots at Duo is damn near impossible.

I first visited their London fitting room on Savile Row over a year ago, and I returned this year to see their 2008-09 collection in person. And, of course, to find a new pair of boots!

The amount of coverage and exposure that Duo has received this year is amazing. Whether it be through word of mouth - one woman buying a perfectly fitted pair of boots and telling her friends - or seen in the pages of Vogue, women are finally realizing how satisfying it is to have a pair of hot fuck-me, smart-casual, or "just because I want them" boots in their closets, on on their legs.

Duo's Luagano Boot

Take for example the extremely popular Lugano boot, which Lisa Butcher was recently spotted wearing, has been seen in Vogue, as well as Rovigo boot which featured in Elle magazine.

The Rovigo boot is my absolute favorite as it comes up to just at your knee, has three killer biker boot buckles at the ankle, a low chunky, comfortable heel and can be worn tall, or rolled down.

Duo's

Buckles, studs and biker boots are very much a large part of Duo's 2008-09 collection, giving a definitive edge on both dressing-up and more casual boots.

If you're interested in having a pair of your very own Duo boots, you can go about it five different ways:

1) Online @ www.duoboots.com

2) By Phone - +44 (0)845 070 5588

3) Post - call Duo to receive an order form!

4) Shops - Duo have two full shops in Bath and Manchester

5) Fitting Rooms - go and have your lovely legs measured by a Fitting Angel at their London, Edinburgh or Amsterdam fitting locations where you can be fitted for and order your new favorite boots in person.

Sound like a plan?

I highly recommend Duo boots as I have two pairs from last years season and still wear them all the time. They're comfortable, fit perfectly, and are made with extreme care and quality. The staff at their Savile Row location are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and it's obvious that they all really do believe in Duo's motto: "Style is nothing without fit".

I just looked at their website and I can't believe how cheap they are! They are the same price as any high street boots from say, Office, but they might actually fit!

Calf fitting is a particular bone of contention of mine. I am relatively slim, have normal size calves yet still had to send a pair of boots back to ASOS recently for not fitting properly round my leg. Mean shoe companies making me feel fat!
