This past week night saw the launch party of the Whiteleys Pop Up stores and it was quite a transformation for the top floor of the shopping centre located in West London.
Attracting a fashion and celebrity crowd, the pop up shops involved included Junk Food Clothing, The POP Store, The Bower of Bliss Store and FrostFrench - all of which are selling amazingly cool and quirky pieces by brands such as Wildfox and Disney Couture.
Now open to the public, the Pop Up shops are definitely worth a look if you’re passing through West London, as not only are they filled with some wonderfully unique and impressive pieces ranging from t-shirts, dresses, sweatshirts, jeans, jewellery and home accessories, but the layout and fine attention to decor detail also makes the experience far more than your average shopping experience.
Each store is accessorised according to the theme of the labels it sells which really adds a special touch. The Disney Couture store for example, has a wide array of stunning jewellery designs including a selection of amazing Tom Binns necklaces presented in circular domes against a forest inspired backdrop.
There were also some fabulous pet accessories including dog bowls and leads for those who like their pets to fit in with the fash pack! The Junk Food and Wildfox tees are also worth a good look with some typically fun and stylishly chic comfortable styles.
Of course, a few moments of celebrity spotting were also on the agenda and those in attendance included Jemima French and Sadie Frost who both looked smouldering in their boudoir-esque setting, keen to talk about their latest FrostFrench collections and proving incredibly popular with the press.
Other celebs spied included Jameela Jamil and Nick Grimshaw of T4 fame as well as singer Eliza Doolittle. Kelly Osbourne was the most talked about celebrity; showing off her new svelte figure with a glamorous ensemble comprising of a classic white shirt, black leggings and a chic black shoulder-padded jacket, she certainly looked every inch the fashionista in a sophisticated way that we’ve never seen her before.
In addition to some great (mostly female) DJ’s, Alice Dellal provided musical entertainment with her new band Thrush Metal which was certainly an interesting albeit shouty performance. Unfortunately we didn’t get a look at her as she was sporting an old man mask and a man’s suit (as were her band). However, she was entertaining!
I thoroughly enjoyed the evening which was a superb collaboration of fashion and music. The miniature champagne bottles were in full flow and the Tequila bar concocting all manner of Tequila cocktails also proved a popular stop-point in between admiring the clothes and indulging in a spot of celeb spying on the red carpet.
