What To Wear at London Fashion Week

By Cate Sevilla

It’s almost London Fashion Week here in, well, London – and all the fashionistas are currently aflutter, tossing and turning over what they should wear, fretting over what will happen if they run into Anna Wintour, and reading Vogue and F5ing the Topshop blog every three seconds to gain some inspiration.

(Did I hit all the fashion stereotypes in there? Almost? Good.)

Mocking aside, anyone who will be stepping anywhere near London Fashion Week is a tad bit concerned with what they’ll be wearing. Will it be too much? Will it be too bland? Are they on trend and fashion forward without looking like they’re just fallen out of the Oxford Street Topshop?

But never fear, I am here to help. As I’ll be at London Fashion Week myself, I’ve put a lot of time into what the LDN fashionista should be wearing to such a glorious occasion.

Here are my tips for what every fashionista should be wearing at London Fashion Week:

Crocs with Charms

They’re comfortable, they’re  popular, and they’ll speak volumes about your personality. With a color for every occasion, why not pick up more than one pair? Black for the evenings? Green for the daytime? Pink if you’re feeling playful?

Plus, with a wide variety of charms, you can make a huge statement about who you are without saying anything. Your feet will speak for you.

Bunny Ears

The Guardian say that bunny ears are bang on trend, so why not take it to the next level and try looking like an actual rabbit. Why give the impression of being a bunny when you can actually just actually be one. Sure Madonna’s may be a bit more expensive, but I suggest going down to your nearest fancy dress or costume shop and picking up the first pair you can find.  I also vote for the bunny nose and whiskers, as well.

Spikes & Muppets

If Katy Perry can wear spikes and Lady GaGa can both date and wear Kermit The Frog heads, then why can’t you? Kermit is incredibly fashionable right now, even if it is just his face on a ball cap. I think the combination of the Katy Perry Spikes with the Lady Gaga Muppet Extravaganza will blow people’s minds. Everyone will be so impressed with the clever way you’ve combined these two trends you’ll be the talk of the town. Kate WHO? Agyness WHATEVER!

Body Suits

Jumpsuits and playsuits are totally in this season, and so is looking like you jumped out of 1983. With the sexy snaps reminiscent of an infant’s onesie, a bodysuit with some brightly colored tights and peep-toe boots would be  h-o-t HOT. Trust me. Pants are so last season.

Crocs? Is there a subtle undercurrent of sarcasm in this piece, or do I really have to pop fashion back into the pile of 'things I hate'?

Haha! How about all four wrapped up in one outfit?! :) Now *that* would be a statement.

Now there's an idea! Spiked Crocs with Muppet heads on them, bodysuit and bunny ears. Might try a Lady GaGa-inspired outfit myself tomorrow night, actually :-)
