Vodafone UK Sponsors London Fashion Weekend

By Cate Sevilla

Going with the trend that technology and fashion have much more in common that your average bear would think, Vodafone UK has announced that it’s now the official sponsor of London Fashion Weekend.

While Vodafone may not as chic of an image as Virgin Mobile or even Orange, I still think this is a really interesting partnership. Vodafone say that “thousands” of their customers will have the chance to have 48 hour advanced access to London Fashion Weekend tickets, as well as the chance to win free tickets, just by registering at vodafone.co.uk/vip. Plus, they'll also have the opportunity to win tickets to festivals, access to the 2010 Formula 1 Santander British Grand Prix, plus tours of the McLaren Technology Centre.

Vodafone have even called in two very fashionable redheads, Florence Welsh and Lily Cole, to pose with Vodafone sponsored Formula 1 driver Jenson Button, as the faces of the London Fashion Weekend, Vodafone partnership.

And while all of the opportunities to win awesome stuff through being a Vodafone VIP sound pretty damn exciting, admittedly, I think getting a tour of the McLaren Technology Centre would be a lot more fun than going to London Fashion Weekend.

Our own  Jo-ann Hodge thinks that London Fashion Weekend is brilliant, I wasn’t all that impressed. However, if you’re into bargain shopping and want a chance to get your paws on discounted designer bits, than London Fashion Weekend is probably your best bet. (Although I would argue a trip to Bicester Village would be just as good.)

Will Vodafone and the faces of Florence and Lily bring new life to London Fashion Weekend? I suppose we’ll have to wait and see. But I’m already thinking the image of London Fashion Weekend is much more approachable and if not more attractive with Cole, Welsh and Button involved.
