Plain t-shirts are a wardrobe staple. Wear 'em in bed or to a party, with anything from jeans to leather leggings, and you're onto an outfit winner. Humble t-shirt, we salute you! But would you pay nearly £40 for one?
Oscar London t-shirts, worn by clothes horses including Cheryl Cole, pride themselves on fit, feel and neckline. They come in good old black and white and in either scoop or v-neck. But they are priced at £39.50. Seems rather a lot for a t-shirt, but then it doesn't seem a lot for a piece of clothing that is flattering, fits well, and goes with everything.
This week we have been testing out Oscar London t-shirts, to find out if they are as good as they say they are, or if they just look good on Cheryl Cole because, what wouldn't?
Fit
Unlike cheaper t-shirts, the Oscar London shirt was cut more narrowly around the waist, and to curve out around the hips, meaning that it sits nicely around the body, rather than either stretch accross the hips or billowing under the boobs. The result is indeed extremely flattering. The t-shirts are also cut to be quite long (just below the hip bone) so they look great over leggings and don't ride up when tucked in.
Feel
The first thing we noticed when taking it out of its slinky box, and unwrapping the cute pink paper it came in was the feel of the fabric. Made from 100% supreme cotton, the t-shirts are soft and smooth.
Neckline
The neckline, one of Oscar London's main selling points was indeed rather nicely cut. The V was deep enough to flatter big boobs (rather than sit too high and create the impression they are sitting around your waist), while it was cut narrow enough to fully cover bra straps.
All round then, rather good. After a whole day of wear, the t-shirt had retained its flattering shape, so while it may have cost a little more, it did end up feeling like it was pretty worth it. If you still think £39.50 is a bit steep, you can get a whole 25% off, by clicking here, and entering 'iloveoscar' until 2nd September.
