Tried and Tested: Lush Turkish Delight Body Polish

By Laura Silver

There are few things I love more than Turkish delight, rose scented bath products, and Lush, so you can imagine my excitement when I discovered Lush’s latest addition to their cornucopia of bathing treats,Turkish Delight Body Polish. The name comes from its resemblance to the rich, creamy butters you can expect to be slathered with in a Turkish bath, as well as the inclusion of headily fragrant Turkish rose. The scent of the concoction also hints at that of a bar of Fry’s finest; this product ain't thrown together!

Belonging to Lush’s ‘shower smoothie’ range, Turkish Delight features a rich blend of smoothing sweet almond oil and softening cocoa butter and a gentle soap base which leaves skin squeaky clean and intensely moisturised.A decadent blend rose water, oil and absolute, with citrusy neroli and sensuous jasmine lend the product such a powerful floral fragrance that you’d be forgiven for drifting off and thinking you were lying in an exotic eastern rose garden.

Understandably, since I got my mits on a pot of Turkish Delight last week, I have used it with every shower, and am literally addicted to its flowery scent, which has the sweet, freshness of guest-soap, as opposed to the strong floral notes that really linger up your nose and end up giving you a headache.

The texture of the product is thick, but spreads easily over skin, moisturising even dry, winter patches without leaving a greasy residue. I didn’t find it soapy enough to replace a shower gel, but use it alongside Lush’s jasmine rich Flying Fox shower gel, which complements the rose beautifully, and brings out the jasmine in Turkish Delight. Plus, you’ll be left squeaky clean and smelling more fragrant than Liberty’s beauty hall!
