It’s National Cupcake Week, and in honor of this most glorious of weeks I have scoured the depths of Etsy’s almost 1,000 pages worth of cupcake-related goods to find you the very best in delicious (though, sadly, nonedible) handmade cupcakery.
Cupcake necklaces are a dime a dozen on Etsy so I was pleasantly surprised to find a take on the cupcake necklace I’ve never seen before. If there’s one thing I love more than cupcakes it’s zombies, so this adorable little brain-eating confection made me squee out loud. Best of all, the zombie cupcake comes in not one but three states of undead sweetness!

With their swirls of frosting and sprinkles these actual-cupcake-sized bath bombs look good enough to eat. Choose your own frosting color and “flavor” from scents like key lime pie, almond biscotti and birthday cake. If you’re feeling less than decisive (and, really, who can blame you when it comes to cupcakes) you can always buy these sweet little bombs by flavor or in a delicious-looking variety pack.

If you want the creme de la creme of cupcake-related artistry you’re going to have to head over to Jesse Oleson’s CakeSpy shop. At Cakespy cupcakes are people too only way more adorable. Oleson’s original artwork—featured on everything from t-shirts and handbags to notecards and card holders—depicts cupcakes baking, waiting for the subway and being chased by zombies.
One of my favorite items is the notecard set featuring cupcakes at the library. I bought this recently for a librarian friend of mine and received with it a thank-you for my purchase written on the back of the most awesome piece of cupcake artwork I’ve ever seen—a cupcake crime scene complete with murdered cupcakes, cupcake cops and a poor, shivering cupcake witness.
Oleson also serves up recipes and other sweet finds on her blog,Cakespy.com.
