There is absolutely nothing better than that feeling of buying the perfect frock and then sharing the excitement of this to your friends or more likely, your boyfriend who somehow doesn’t quite get why you are so excited.
Fear not fashion addicts, as a new website which launched in the summer, storesociety.com acts like a social network for hardcore fashion lovers which connects them to each other and to stores and boutiques.
Finally somewhere to go where you are guaranteed to meet people who are as enthusiastic about those leopard print tights as you! The site provides an eclectic mix of fashion worn by real people of all sizes where you can search the best of the high street as recommended by people with similar tastes to yourself.
The concept for the site was created by 21-year-old Kristina O’Connor - yep, the daughter of TV entertainer and singer Des O’Connor, who as a fashion junkie herself saw the potential of a site where members can upload and tag photographs of their new purchases and share their coolest looks with a network of friends who are equally passionate about fashion and style. Taking inspiration from the ol’ favourites such as Facebook and Twitter, this site is completely dedicated to providing an instant fashion fix every time you hit the home page.
There really is something for everyone as the site represents a huge variety of styles and fashion tastes from unique vintage to the common old high street. Create your profile (maybe I spend too much time online – I seem to constantly be creating profiles) and then simply browse items, add comments, create favourites and make new friends – all those internet type things you’re probably used to doing by now.
When logged in, you can keep up to date with the latest looks by following others and adding your favourite stores to your store list - you’ll then be notified every time they upload something new. If you also find that must-have item in one of our stores or boutiques then simply click straight through to buy it. Easy as that!
Yep – log onto the site and be prepared to be spend even more time in that little virtual world of yours where the old word ‘friend’ has taken on a whole new Web 2.0 meaning. Still, where shopping is concerned I guess that’s ok, right?!
Visit www.storesociety.com to get involved in the action.
