The only things that are “quilted” that I am a fan of are actual quilts from grannies and posh toilet paper. However, between the V&A’s Quilt Exhibition and seemingly every brand in the world are currently selling quilted bags and accessories, and I think I might actually be coming around to quilted items, you know, aside from toilet paper.
I’ve gathered up a few best of the best quilted bags, and I suppose I’ll leave it up to you to decide what you think. Do we love quilted bags and laptop accessories? Or do we think that the likes of Chanel and Debenhams should leave the quilting to the grannies?
Available in blue, black and red for 13” laptops. Prices start at £245

Daily Candy has described these as being “clutches”, which I find curious as if you look at the URL for the these bags on Oki-Ni’s website, they’re categorized as “men’s accessories”. While I would argue these are not clutches or bags, but simply stylish laptop sleeves, there’s no denying that they’re more attractive than your average laptop sleeve.
Price = A LOT

Chanel Coco Cocoon is perhaps the most high-end, luxurious version of the quilted bag. But despite it’s popularity, I’m not sure I’m a fan. They remind me of those puffy jackets that everyone wore in 1998. However, out of the entire collection, I do like this Travel Bowling Bag the best!
Fits a 15” laptop. Available in seven different colors, £80.

Knomo is crazing about quilted bags and laptop accessories, and their Bloomsbury collection is made up entirely of just that. From briefcases to those annoying rolly-bags, Knomo say that these bags are named after the Bloomsbury group of literary legends, as their collection, like its namesake “combines style with intelligence”. Too bad they also say that the Teeli Briefcase is also perfect for “women on the go”. Barf.
Available in black, currently on sale for £28

This is your standard, black, quilted laptop bag. It basically does what it says on the tin. While it’s not exactly as stylish as your Cocoon bag, it’s basic, will protect your laptop, and is indeed trendy. Plus, folks, it’s on sale for only £28!
Sold by Etsy Seller SewLuckyEmbroidery for $30

While I personally would opt to not have this bag monogrammed, I think it’s pretty damn cute. If you want a quilted bag that can easily fit a netbook in it, as well as your weekend bits and bobs. And, this bag has a bow on it. It’s quilted, it had bows, it’s from an independent seller on Etsy - what more could you want?
