We’ve been warned that this year will be the worst winter ever. Cold, miserable and unfeeling Mother Nature is going to unleash subzero temperatures and force us into wooly socks, the very likes which I imagine builders and mountain climbers wear on a regular basis to keep the frostbite at bay. Such a threat by weather forecasters worldwide tells me that we all need to invest in some new winter boots. Yes, preparing for the seasonal deep-freeze and all. Very practical.

Reggie Flippo has worked for some of the major fashion houses in Europe as a designer and tailor, but quit to follow his heart (and the brown eyes of a cute boy) to London. Leather and fur are everywhere for Autumn Winter 2010. You can’t walk through a high street store without running into a furry collar, leather shorts, matted down faux fur vest or the most unabashedly flamboyant species of them all - the full-on monstrously fluffy fur coat or over the knee leather bondage style boots. This season it’s all about slapping modern minimalism on the butt with your fingerless leather gloves (but of course).

It is official – this season is thoroughly friendly on your wallet. This may not seem like it is the case, what with all those jackets and dresses on sale for hundreds of pounds, but actually the top trends are all ones that, with a little bit of planning, are really quite thrift-able.
That’s right – if you know what to look for then the top trends can be picked up on eBay, in vintage shops, or even in Charity shops. The end goal? To save us lots of money!
