London Fashion Week: The Immoralist

Sometimes a fashion show can simply involve models stomping nonchalantly down the catwalk to the sound of whatever track is flavour of the moment. And sometimes, it will be a full-on performance with music, specifically selected types of model, and well-devised hair and make-up, pulling everything together to really hammer home the ideas that the clothes are trying to convey. 'The Immoralist' at Vauxhall Fashion Scout yesterday was most certainly the latter.

London Fashion Week: Avsh Alom Gur

The preview of Avsh Alom Gur's forthcoming Spring/Summer 2010 collection may have been advertised as a show, but the free-for-all that ensued around the presentation of mannequins as the curtain fell, was far from it. You'd have thought they were giving away the clothes, the stampede was so mental. I blame the skanky Sourz they were hanging out beforehand.

Jena Theo Wins Fashion Fringe at Covent Garden

Jena Theo is the winner of Fashion Fringe at Covent Garden, 2009, and I have to say that I'm pretty damn excited about that. Today saw the climax of the annual Fashion Fringe competition at The Flower Cellars, with four different innovative designers marching their finest creations down the catwalk, draped across many a painstakingly thin female model.

London Fashion Week: Alice Palmer

London is undoubtedly the most experimental of all the fashion weeks, and it is certainly exciting to witness some of the bold, avant garde creations that come out of our quirky little city. Where else in the world would you find jewell encrusted surgical masks, gold studs and glittered...

London Fashion Week: Harriet's Muse

Last Night, Harriet's Muse allowed us a last little snippet of this summer, with Pimms cocktails, and glitter-dusted strawberry meringues, whilst giving us a reason to look forward to next summer, with a sneak preview of their Spring/Summer 2010 collection at Vauxhall Fashion Scout.

London Fashion Week: Jasmine Di Milo

Last night, designer Jasmine Di Milo opted for an intimate presentation at Somerset House's swanky Portico Rooms, shunning the dramatic catwalk show. While a catwalk show involves a lot of glamour, and celebrity hoo-ha, which is pretty fun, it is difficult to get a really good look at the clothes as the models swish by.

Fierce Images from The Catwalk & London Fashion Week

Normal people look at Fashion Weeks with raised eyebrows and a WTF stare, and I can’t say I blame them.Between the absurd and the naked, it’s hard to understand why catwalk shows are important. But, believe it or not  they are. The designers that showcase their latest collections at London Fashion Week are directly influencing the high street. The clothes that you’re buying next summer will be based on what the likes of Vivienne Westwood, Matthew Williamson and Pringle march dow...

MAC and Toni & Guy at LFW

If there is one place you don't want to have shit hair and make-up, it's fashion week. Coming up with a great outfit is one thing, but setting it off with great hair and make-up is what really seperates the real style queens from the shitmunchers. And we're not talking a neat blow-dry and 'no make-up' make-up, this ain't New York. We're talking smoky, rock-chick make-up and a big badass blow-dry.

London Fashion Week: Bernard Chandran

For his show at On|Off on Friday, Bernard Chandran's references were distinctly topical. Fresh off the swine-flu bandwagon, his collection was unusually accessorised with jewel encrusted surgical masks. The effect over-all gave the collection a tough edge and a sense of glam-bondage, as well as a serious air of caution.

London Fashion Week: Estethica Exhibition

In a break between shows, and guzzling the delicious Chambord infused Champagne being bandied about the BFC tent, we headed over to the Estethica exhibition to check out the wares of its various ethical traders. Every year, the exhibition brings together the best ethical, fair trade and recycled brands together to show that fashion with a conscience doesn't necessarily mean wearing hemp Jesus-sandals, jewellery made f...
