My Wardrobe's Male-Friendly Denim Bar

By Laura Yates

This past Wednesday saw me hot-foot it across London to the my-wardrobe.com pop-up Denim Bar launch party held at 38 Carnaby Street. I was very interested to gain a deeper understanding of the concept of what the pop-up Denim Bar was all about and I was very impressed at the invite which came in the form of a Nudie Jean pocket so was excited to see what was in store.

In a nutshell, for just two days from the 27th – 28th May, the pop-up Denim Bar comprises entirely of jeans for men including brands such as J Brand, CURRENT/ELLIOT, 7 For All Mankind, Nudie, Paige, Nobody and the new Vivienne Westwood/Lee Jeans collaboration. Experts from the my-wardrobe.com’s buying and styling team will be on-hand to provide advice on what styles suit all you guys best; whether it be slim, straight, skinny or boot-cut among a whole host of other jean styles in the mix!

There will also be a bespoke beverage of Tanqueray No.10 my-martinis on offer to get you in the shopping mood (which is also a nice touch for the ladies who will untypically be the ones hanging outside the changing rooms whilst the man finds the perfect pair of jeans!) However girls, fear not as laptops are set up with access to the mywardrobe.com Denim Bar site so you can browse online and check out the ladies styles.

I think it is great to see a fashion and style event which is geared towards men and my-wardrobe are certainly taking note of the fact that guys too want style advice and help finding the perfect pair of jeans, but are often too shy or intimidated to ask. With my-wardrobe.com launching the menswear section this year, the aim of the Denim Bar is to enhance and add to the overall online experience. The idea is certainly very innovative and I’m sure will be hugely successful.

The pop-up Denim Bar is located at 38 Carnaby Street, and today is the last day it's running. Make sure you also check out the mywardobe.com online Denim Bar feature which provides all the essential styling tips you need to choose your jeans, the brands available and loads of other denim based information to add to the experience!

I love wearing jeans and denim clothes. Of course this kind of clothes are not suited for every situation, but neither the wigs and I have quite a few. I would like to see a designer making a denim tuxedo or a denim dinner dress. Too bad I missed these two days.
