If there is one place you don't want to have shit hair and make-up, it's fashion week. Coming up with a great outfit is one thing, but setting it off with great hair and make-up is what really seperates the real style queens from the shitmunchers. And we're not talking a neat blow-dry and 'no make-up' make-up, this ain't New York. We're talking smoky, rock-chick make-up and a big badass blow-dry.
It's a good job then that lead sponsors Toni & Guy, and MAC are on hand to primp and preen the press accordingly, and today I went along to their pop-up salons to be beautified.
Toni & Guy trimmed my hair and blow-dried into a bouffant as requested. It's not in Cheryl Cole's league, but I guess they can't work magic.
I then headed over to MAC for the smoky eye treatment using the amazing new dark glitter Mineralize Eye Shadows from their Autumn Collection.
Onto a layer of dark, Blackground cream shadow base, the artist applied 'Blue Flame' a black Mineralize shadow with blue pear, and 'Young Punk', also a black Mineralize shadow with pinkish/purple glitter. The overall look was bold and dark, with blue and pink accents, making a nice change from a standard dark, smoky eye.
The shadows are part of MAC's punky, new 'Style Black' collection which also features dark, metallic purple, broze and black nail laquers, sheer black glosses, with a hint of purple or gold glitter, their classic khol and a fully opaque black lipstick. Think disco goth a la Marc Jacobs AW09. 'Style Black' is available in October.
Thanks to MAC and Toni & Guy, I am now suitably vamped up to take on day three of London Fashion Week!
