When thigh high boots made their runway return the fashion press made a big deal about how you could wear them without looking like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman (aka the lazy journalist’s shorthand for ‘dressing like a prostitute’).
Wise advice.
Thigh high boots are incredibly sexy and if worn with the right outfit can be seriously stylish and totally non-trashy.
Heidi Montag did not get the memo.
These thigh highs might well be Louboutin and they might well feature nice metallic detailing but that doesn’t make Heidi’s decision to pair them with this outfit any less questionable. Wearing them with a leather mini skirt and corseted pink vest top (with red bra to match the Loubs?) don’t exactly whisper ‘fashion-forward with a nod to this season’s boudoir chic’.
I know people in LA aren’t as keen on black opaque tights as folk in London, but I would class this outfit as the perfect example of how they can transform a potentially OTT look into something a hell of a lot more acceptable on a day to day basis.
By the way, I will say this. Amazing blue nails. A-mazing.
