Cosy Knitwear to Steal from Your Boyfriend

By Laura Silver

When it gets to this stage in the winter, all you really want to wear is cosy, oversized knitwear, and thanks to Burberry, Etro and Alexander Wang, throwing a big, chunky man-jumper over a dress or skin-tight jeans is not just toasty, warm, and baggy enough to disguise the fact that you're cramming a years worth of mince pies into two months, but stylish too.

For this very reason, Topshop et al have found themselves snuggled in generous swathes of woolen goods, but when shopping for this trend it is worth straying into the men's wear department. Wearing men's sizes means all of the knitwear will be oversized, equalling more choice, but also, every one of your mates is less likely to have eyed the same pieces.

With the likes of Chuck Bass waving his wand of dapperness over men's wear this year, you will also find boy shops offering some pretty nice patterns, prints and shapes right now. The only thing to remember is to make sure the rest of your outfit is feminine to the max to avoid looking like you're mooching around the house in your boyfriend's jumper. Follow Etro's lead and pair with high-glamour evening trousers and heels, or simply belt a big, baggy men's cardigan over a body-con mini.
