Brighten Dull Days with Bebaroque Tights

By Laura Silver

This Autumn, it is fair to say, I am pretty obsessed with fancy tights. In the absence of an exciting new wardrobe, they are providing me with the key to making boring jumper-dresses and the like, that I have had for years, into interesting new outfits.

Brightly coloured tights are a staple, as are Henry Holland's range for Pretty Polly, and thanks to the tip-off from Kingdom of Style, I have my eye on a pair of Hilary Laing 'Ophelia' scribble tights. My biggest hosiery crush at the moment though, is for Bebaroque, available from MyTights.com.

The beautifully embellished tights, designed by Mhairi McNicol and Chloe Patience, are hand-made and decorated, with anything from prints to jewels in their homeland of Scotland.

Most of the designs have a burlesque feel to them, in particular, a magenta pair with black fringing down the back, allowing you a subtle touch of sexy-glamour that won't leave you feeling like a prostitute when you're on the bus.

Ornate paisley designs also feature heavily, which appear as both all over prints, and smaller focal points, embellished further with gem-stones and brocade.

They may not be cheap, but such is Bebaroque's visual decadence, that their tights will literally transform a flaccid outfit, meaning they are totally worth the splurge. Available in deniers as high as 100, there also ends up being little risk you'll instantly ladder your precious expensive tights!
