Bad News for Spots: Proactiv Comes to the UK

By Zara Rabinowicz

If your skin is looking blotchier than the latest episode of Eastenders and you have considered industrial cleansers to reduce the oiliness of your skin, ou may want to give skincare brand Proactiv a chance.

This line has been created to target blemishes and oil spills, and has been wowing UScustomers for years with its smart combination of salicylic acids and gentle exfoliants.

Yes, it’s a harsh line, so sensitive skin beware, but if you’re in search for something less toxic than Clearasil and don’t know where to turn this could well be your saviour.

So what are the hero products of this range?

The Renewing Cleanser

This cleanser gives you a really deep clean, with tiny exfoliating beads removing dead skin. A quick wash will give you that squeaky clean feeling you’ve been looking for, without any of the tightness or dryness of other acne ranges.

The Repairing Night Lotion

This product acts like a moisturising spot wrestler, as it hydrates your skin, but also manages to minimize pesky pores. It contains Retinol to smooth skin and Vitamin E and D to smooth it whilst you sleep. I call this the wonder cream, as a couple days use can put those breakouts to rest.

Remember it takes time for any range to work, as skin renews itself every 3-4 weeks, so results won’t be immediate. You will notice a decrease in redness however- that’s where the magic in this range lies, as though you need a full skin cycle to clear your skin, you can start to see some results straightaway.

Try a starter kit for £19.95 via Proactive's website.
