Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland hits cinemas in the UK this week and while the jury’s out as to whether the film provides any substance beneath its indulgently pretty facade, the fashion world is revelling in the gloriously girly spectacle. After all, who needs substance when you can have beautiful nonsense?
Last week saw Selfridges team up with Disney to display five shop-windows full of Alice-inspired pieces by designers such as Tom Binns, Stella McCartney, Alice Temperley and Anna Lou of London.
But if your budget won't stretch quite that far, the web is full of equally adorable pieces with more affordable price tags.
Here are a few of my favourite finds.
Clothes

An iconic image of Alice in her traditional dress, this tee would be perfect teamed with skinny jeans for a more casual take on the trend.

The playsuit is set to be a s/s essential for yet another year and this one has so much going for it. But where would you wear it you ask? Shh, details, details…

Alice lives in her black Mary Janes. For a more grown-up take on the look, try these black Ted Baker patent heels.
Kids

Spade print makes for a nice alternative to this season’s heart-fest and these shoes are just adorable. If they made them for adults they’d make the best slippers.

This Disney Vintage Kit dress takes an original Alice sketch, mixes with this season’s pastel shades and ties it all up, quite literally, with a bow.
