3 Fantastic Places to Shop Online

By Cate Sevilla

Shopping online is not something I do very much of. I like to try things on and see how a garment fits me, rather than just how it hangs on a hanger.

However, with shops like eBay’s Fashion Outlet on the loose, I can definitely feel that I’m going to a lot more browsing online (and potentially many more returns, but whatever).

Of course we all know about shops like ASOS where we can go to get our online shopping fix, however, there are a few classic shops that have upped their game, along with a few other new shops that are sure to knock your socks off.

Online Shop: My Sugarland

Why we love it: So many fabulous designers in one little shop!

Our Favorite Online Shops

Initially I was interested in this shop because it has the same name as my favourite country band, Sugarland. However, once I moved passed the name and actually had a look on the website and the photos of the actual shop, plus did a bit of research on what it was about, I was hooked.

Founded by celebrity stylist Zoe Lem, My Sugarland is a space that houses garments and accessories from a large variety of labels. From well established designers to luxury vintage pieces that Zoe’s found across the globe, whether its interiors, a vintage dress, or this collared PPQ dress that I’m currently wanking over – My Sugarland will suck you in, and spit you (and a large credit card receipt) out...with you looking all the more fabulous for it.

Online Shop: French Connection

Why we love it: Their Shop & Play feature

Our Favorite Online Shops

Maybe I’m slow, or not as down with the kids as I thought, but when I first saw that you can Shop & Play and purchase clothes from French Connection’s Spring Summer 2010 collection straight from a video, I was terribly impressed.

Not only was I impressed by the concept, but I was impressed that it actually bloody worked. So many times brands say they’re going to do something “online” or specifically something with video and they get it oh-so-wrong. But French Connections’ Shop & Play feature is brilliant because it does what it’s meant to, but because it’s just damn cool.

Online Shop: Get Cutie

Why we love it: Gorgeous style for every size!

Our Favorite Online Shops

The problem I have with a lot of vintage and second-hand shops is that a many times I find things that just don’t fit. So when I discovered that at Get Cutie you can have a vintage-inspired dress, top or skirt made with the print you want, sewn to your exact size, I was thrilled. (And you should be, too.)

Get Cutie have been making dresses from their studios in Brighton for over ten years, and we absolutely love what they’re about. They not only celebrate the “diversity of women’s body shape”, offering sizes 8 -26, but in with a selection of their dresses they also offer a range of cup sizes, including A – G. Let’s hear it for clothes that actually fit!
